Meet Akbar Matadar, MD

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Akbar G. Matadar is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Having earned his medical degree from the University of Bombay, Bombay, India, Dr. Matadar went on to complete his Residency in General Surgery, Otolaryngology and Internal Medicine from the same institution. Moving to the United States in 1970, the facial plastic surgeon excelled at his surgical internship at Upstate Medical University, State University of New York and went on to successfully complete his Residency and Teaching Fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and School of Medicine.

In the 1990s, Dr. Matadar became acquainted with renowned cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Dominic Brandy, and became one of the first cosmetic surgeons trained in the QuickLift® mini facelift procedure. Since that time, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PA) cosmetic surgeon has played an integral role at The Skin Center Medical Spa in Pittsburgh, PA where he serves as Associate Medical Director. His keen sense of aesthetics and outstanding bedside manner has served him well in establishing awareness in the medical community and in maintaining very loyal plastic cosmetic surgery patients. In addition to the QuickLift mini facelift, Dr. Matadar is also skilled in other anti aging and facelift procedures.

Over the past 30 years, Dr. Matadar has held such positions as Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at the Weirton Medical Center located in Weirton, WV, and was a member of the Medical Staff Executive Committee for Weirton Medical Center.
