Physician Information

Dr. Akbar G. Matadar is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Having earned his medical degree from the University of Bombay, Bombay, India, Dr. Matadar went on to complete his Residency in General Surgery, Otolaryngology and Internal Medicine from the same institution. Moving to the United States in 1970, Dr. Matadar excelled at his surgical internship at Upstate Medical University, State University of New York and went on to successfully complete his Residency and Teaching Fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and School of Medicine.

In the 1990s, Dr. Matadar became acquainted with Dr. Brandy and became one of the first physicians trained in the QuickLift™ procedure. Since that time, Dr. Matadar has played an integral role at The Skin Center Medical Spa where he serves as Associate Medical Director. His keen sense of aesthetics and outstanding bedside manner has served him well in establishing awareness in the medical community and in maintaining very loyal patients.

Over the past thirty years, Dr. Matadar has held such positions as Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at the Weirton Medical Center located in Weirton, WV, and was a member of the Medical Staff Executive Committee for Weirton Medical Center.
