Physician Information

Dr. Mooney is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Originally from Ireland, Dr. Mooney earned his medical degree from Medical School University College Dublin, MB. Moving to the United States in the early 70's, Dr. Mooney completed his General Surgery residency at EJ Meyer Hospital in Buffalo, NY and his Plastic Surgery residency at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He also completed an additional fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Mooney is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Chicago Society of Plastic Surgeons, Illinois State Medical Society and the Chicago Medical Society. He has served as a plastic surgery consultant for the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, NY, clinical instructor in Plastic Surgery at Rush Pres St. Luke's and is currently an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Illinois.
